Is it too late to find my purpose?

Have you ever wondered “What am I going to be when I grow up?”

For all of my years as a youth I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. When I was growing up and my parents were going through a bad divorce, the main person who I remember helping me was my 2nd grade teacher. Her name was Ms. Green and she was my favorite teacher. I just wanted to make an impact like she did.

Being a teacher wasn’t in my cards though. That story is for another day, but I ended up going to a local community college for my associates degree in General Studies because I had no idea what I wanted to do if I couldn’t go to school to be a teacher.

Fast Forward 10 Years

I had worked in customer service management for years, had my real estate license, and I still didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up! While I was pregnant with my second son I started online school at the University of Phoenix for my Bachelor’s in Business Management.

When I finished my degree, my oldest son was of age to start Kindergarten. While I was at the doctor’s getting his physical papers for school I decided I wanted to try homeschooling. Being a chef, my husband’s schedule is crazy! Raise your hand if you have a chef in the family who never seems to get a day off!! If you know a chef, you know the life that leads. With homeschooling, we didn’t have to worry about the kids being at school when my husband had a day off in the middle of the week, because at the time, having a weekend day off was never possible. My family dynamic was more important than going to work and we dove into Kindergarten to “try it out.” 8 years later and we’re still at it and loving it!

Work from Home Jobs

So there I was, homeschooling my son with my toddler running around. In my spare time, mostly after bedtime, I worked as a virtual assistant. I did real estate marketing and blog writing. After awhile I left that company and moved onto another doing the same thing. After being there for two years I started having issues not getting enough hours. Since it wasn’t consistent income, I started looking to put my degree to use finally! I built my website and took the leap of faith into launching my own business as a Virtual Assistant. I worked a lot with real estate agents doing their marketing, and I built a successful business doing what I knew with clients whom I loved.

Fast forward 2.5 years and welcome baby #3, and a move to another area. With Covid, I lost a few clients and I had been putting off trying to get more and I didn’t know why. The thought of adding more to my already full plate had me very stressed out and I didn’t know what to do.

Mindset Really is Everything

I started browsing Facebook groups looking for potential opportunities when I came across a Beta test offer for Mindset coaching. I have been to therapy before and thought it would be like that even though I’ve never considered anything like this. After the baby, the move, multiple things wrong with the new house, and one of the kids not adjusting well to the move, something had to give and I was willing to try anything!

I am not kidding when I tell you this is one of the best things I’ve ever done. I love Jomana Elaridi so much, and she’s helped me so much, I signed on for her services after the beta test was over.

During these sessions I realized that I started my business out of panic and didn’t focus on what I love to do. I focused only on what I was used to… what was in my comfort zone.

My Relaunch

I love writing. I’ve always loved writing. I have journal after journal of poems and writings. I published a children’s book. I don’t know why I didn’t think about creating my business based on what I truly love.

I decided a relaunch was necessary. I love working for my current clients and it was time to add more clients doing what I love. I relaunched my business focusing on podcast repurposing and podcast show notes creation for self-help podcasts and self-development podcasts.

I immensely enjoy helping people like myself who just want to help other people. If they don’t have the time to write, overthink and overly criticize everything they write, or are just overwhelmed with the thought of writing their podcast blog or podcast show notes, I want to help them! Investing in yourself and your podcast is what helps you reach and HELP more people!
