3 Ways to Build Confidence Writing Your Website Copy

I have been there, writing and rewriting my website copy.

Honestly, I just did it again for the 15th time! I totally get it. You want your copy to be the best it can be, but sometimes perfection prevents you from just hitting publish.

So what can you do?

Here are 3 Ways to Feel More Confident in Your Website Copy

  1. Get a second opinion. I am not saying that external validation is the way to go, but having a friend or family member look it over to make sure somebody ‘on the outside’ would understand what you are trying to say.

  2. Wait a day or two and then read it with fresh eyes. Sometimes when I go back and read something I think, ‘Wow…did I really write that? It’s pretty amazing!”, and sometimes I think, ‘Wow, I am glad I reread that, it didn’t make sense at all!”

  3. Compare with other websites. This is NOT to see if you match up to them because comparison is the thief of joy! This is strictly for research purposes. When you look at a competitor’s website, what do you like and dislike about their copy? Make note of it so you don’t repeat it in your own copy and so you can figure out why you liked what you did.
